Nissan Navara

The all-new Nissan Navara enhances everything its predecessor was famous for. The pick-up is now tougher, more refined and better equipped than ever, reinforcing its status as a class leader.

Exterior

Whether you are tackling boggy fields, clambering over rocks or cruising through town, the Navara’s exterior is prepared. The entry-level Visia has a tough guard frame over the rear window to protect the cab from loose cargo, and a tube rear bumper for withstanding knocks from behind. Alloy wheels replace the standard 16-inch steel wheels from the Acenta trim which also fits classy chrome detailing. Side steps help you into the cab from the Acenta+, while the range topping Tekna adds roof rails as standard.

Interior

The interior feels more like a crossover SUV than a pick-up which helps everyone to relax as they travel. The Double Cab seats five and the King Cab four, meaning the Navara is a genuine alternative to the traditional family SUV or estate. Standard on-board kit includes cloth seats, a six-way adjustable driver’s seat and rear electric windows (Double Cab only). Opt for the Tekna for leather seats and the option to fit a sunroof.

Performance and efficiency

Performance is where the pick-up really surpasses its rivals. It is built around a fully boxed ladder chassis rather than the three-sided channel-section frame fitted to others in the class. This, alongside a newly developed rear suspension set-up, makes the model more agile and improves the ride noticeably. In the engine bay is a 2.3-litre dCi diesel powertrain with either 158bhp or 187bhp. Only the Visia trim with the King Cab shape is 2WD, while all others offer part-time 4WD which sends power to both axels. With enough torque to push through tough terrain, the model is also refined enough to return as much as 44.9mpg combined.

Safety and technology

Wherever it goes, the Navara has everything it needs to keep you safe. The Traction Control System (TCS) senses when a wheel loses grip and reduces engine power or applies the brakes to maintain traction. ABS stops the wheels from locking up under heavy braking so you can steer around obstacles, while Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) applies extra braking force when a heavy load is on board to slow the pick-up quickly.

Sophisticated audio and communications technology connects and entertains you during any task in the Navara. You can connect an MP3 player to the standard audio system via a USB port or auxiliary socket and listen to your own choice of music. In the N-Connecta model and those above it you access NissanConnect 2.0, the brand’s latest infotainment system. Touchscreen satellite navigation guides you to destinations with minimal disruption, and a reversing camera helps you to park safely once you get there.
