The Motability Scheme is a government backed initiative that helps disabled people to be and get mobile by exchanging their motability allowance to lease a brand new car on Motability. As a motability dealer, our dealership is equipped with Motability specialists who are there to help and answer any questions you might have about choosing your car or about the motability scheme. The motability scheme is open to anyone who receives one of the eligible mobility allowances. Do you qualify? What do you get under the Motability Scheme?

Many of our vehicles require no advanced payment whatsoever from yourself. Your motability allowance will paid directly to us each month, meaning all you need to worry about is paying for fuel. In addition, you get some fantastic benefits including:

  • A brand new car every three years (or five years for wheelchair accessible vehicle customer)
  • Insurance, servicing & maintenance is included in this meaning you don't have to pay for any of it!
  • Full RAC roadside assistance
  • Tyre & windscreen replacement
  • Nominate up to two drivers
  • 60,000 mileage allowance over three years or 100,000 for WAV customers

Are you eligible to join the Motability Scheme?

To be eligible to join the Motability Scheme, you need to receive a mobility allowances and you must have at least 12 months’ award length remaining. When you sign for the scheme, your motability allowance is deducted and paid to Motability Operations Ltd directly by the DWP (Department of Work and Pensions). At Crayford & Abbs, we will help you through all of this.

Please note, the motability allowance holder does not need to be the driver of the vehicle. Children or non-drivers are also entitled to the scheme, up to two named drivers are included as part of your lease; these can be yourself, friends, family or carers. You can also add a third driver for an additional cost.
